These genuine buffalo nickels were minted between 1913 and 1938 and have been in circulation long enough that the dates are no longer readable, but they are actually still legal tender. Of course, their value is more than a nickel these days, and it is perfectly legal to do whatever you want with US currency as long as you do NOT manipulate it in any way to represent any other denomination (so don’t try to turn these into quarters!).
